The Will and the Way

What is Will?

It is not simply desire, for all men desire something, yet few ever find it in themselves to reach out for that thing desired, let alone grasp and claim it.

I would put forth that without Force there can be no Will.

Without the threat and fortitude to both extend, and likewise withstand force, violence if necessary, there can be no resolve. Thus, Fear is the natural enemy of Will.

It could be said then, that Will is the prepondering weight of possible violence against any and all who would dare oppose a person’s chosen course or direction.

Some man once said, “Where there’s a will, there’s a way.” Yet slogans and aphorisms such as this are often robbed of their power in the hearts and minds of men by their sheer commonality of use, from beggar to scholar. At some point the power of wisdom is lost in its over-quoted misuse on the tongues of men who have no true idea of that which they speak. Like a lame man’s legs that hang limp, is a proverb in the mouth of a fool.

Indeed, where there is a will, there IS a way.
